In this paper, we propose a resource queuing model to represent the service performance of loss-critical 5G NR services with control and beam tracking overheads. The model accounts for resource allocation over three critical channels, including the physical downlink control channel (PDCCH) responsible for control commands and scheduling grants, the physical downlink shared channel (PDSCH) used for data transmission, and the channel state information reference signal (CSI-RS) accountable for beamforming / beamtracking measurements. The metric of interest is the session loss probability. We show that non-sequential resource allocation at PDSCH results in best performance in terms of session loss probability.
