Numerical simulation of flat directional fading based on Bessel filter for land-mobile satellite channels

This paper addresses the issue of numerical simulation of a land-mobile satellite channel with flat fading caused by multipath propagation. The studied type of fading has a directional nature, which is due to the use of a highly directional receiving antenna on the user terminal. A method for simulating the phenomenon of interest based on the Bessel filter is presented, which is less computationally demanding than the more general method based on the inverse discrete Fourier transform.
